Amoxicillin

Amoxicillin : 

It,s made by different pharmacopoeia. Like USP(United State pharmacopoeia),BP(British pharmacopoeia)etc.But all molecule are  same.And action,mode of action ,indication,dosage guideline also same.

Amoxicillin is the samy synthetic broad spectrum antibiotics.Which act against gram positive and gran negative bacteria.

Therapeutic Indication : 

 Amoxocillin use in the ARI, pneumonia,acute and chronic tonsillitis,    pharyngitis  , Specially typhoid fever in pregnancy,RTI.SSTI,gingivities,dental infection etc.

Side Effects:

 nausea,vomiting,loose stools,headache,dizziness etc.

Contraindication :

This drug almost safe, Amoxicillin is well tolerated, some cases Amixiciliin contraindicated who have hypersensitivity in Amoxicillin. But rare case is counted.

Precautions: 

Nausea,vomiting, diarhoea,skin rash,abdominal discomforte,dizziness etc.

Drug Interactions:

there are no clinically complains ,but rare case to complain who is hypersensitivity in Amoxocollin.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

pregnancy category - 

B,C is almost safe. But some cases we given also pregnancy category A,D if pregnant mother if the potential benefits justifies  the potential risk of the fetus

 

Renal Impairment:

Amoxicillin has not been studies in patients who have renal impairment.because there are no clinically studies or complain against Amoxicillin use who had any complain against renal impairment.

Hepatic Impairment:

No dose adjustment in patient with mild and moderate impairment. And no studies about hepatic impairment ,if not any big complication or hepatic failure,that cases Amxicllin should be used carefully.
