Pharmacopoeia

• British Pharmacopoeia 2014 :
  Since 1864, the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) has been providing authoritative official standards for pharmaceutical substances and medicinal products. It makes an important contribution to the role of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in protecting public health by setting publicly available standards for the quality of medicines.
• United State Pharmacopoeia :
  The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is a non–governmental, official public standards–setting authority for prescription and over–the–counter medicines and other healthcare products manufactured or sold in the United States. USP also sets widely recognized standards for food ingredients and dietary supplements. USP sets standards for the quality, purity, strength, and consistency of these products–critical to the public health. USP's standards are recognized and used in more than 130 countries around the globe. These standards have helped to ensure public health throughout the world for close to 200 years.
• International Pharmacopoeia:
  
  The International Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Int.) constitutes a collection of recommended procedures for analysis and specifications for the determination of pharmaceutical substances, excipients, and dosage forms that is intended to serve as source material for reference or adaptation by any WHO Member State wishing to establish pharmaceutical requirements. The pharmacopoeia, or any part of it, shall have legal status, whenever a national or regional authority expressly introduces it into appropriate legislation. Further explanation or the role of The International Pharmacopoeia is provided in the paragraphs entitled "Scope and function" at the end of the Preface to Volumes 1 and 2 of this edition.
  The history of The International Pharmacopoeia dates back to 1874 when the need to standardize terminology and to specify dosages and composition of drugs led to attempts to produce an international pharmacopoeial compendium.

• Chinese Pharmacopoeia : Prepared and translated into English in accordance with the principles and requirements recommended by the Ninth Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission (ChP) and accomplished by the collective efforts of ChP members, its Secretariat, institutions and organizations, the 2010 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China—known as Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 or abbreviated as ChP 2010—features significant revisions and improvements. This is the ninth edition since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
  The 2010 edition covers most traditional Chinese medicines and Western medicines and preparations, giving descriptions and information on the standards of purity, testing, dosage, precautions, storage, and the strength of each drug
